Pro Options

This programme is optional and replaces the regular Sports & Leisure programme on 4 afternoons per week. It involves 6 hours per week of professional tuition in a range of sports and is designed to increase students’ skills, techniques, and knowledge of their chosen option. 

Pro Options objectives

  • To allow students to extend and customize their course at British Summer School;

  • To increase students’ self-confidence;

  • To develop students’ communication skills;

  • To increase students’ fitness levels (sports and dance options);

  • To improve students’ technical skills and competence.


We have different pro options to choose from

Aviation Simulator
Enabling students to test if they have what it takes to pilot a complex airliner. Training is carried out in a state-of-the-art Boeing 737-800 Flight Simulator under the expert guidance of a qualified flight instructor.

Golf


Covering all aspects of the game including pitching and chipping, bunker play, putting and the long games, as well as course management, the rules of golf and etiquette. Students experience playing on a golf course.

Dance


Focusing on developing students’ technique, style, choreography and performance skills. Lessons consist of a fusion that incorporates elements of street dance, break dance, jazz, ballet and even tap.

Horse Riding
Including stable management, animal welfare and horse preparation as well as increasing riding ability and confidence. More advanced students can also learn how to jump.

Food Innovation
Focusing on the fundamentals of food preparation, cooking and presentation skills in both local and international recipes. This course is designed to inspire young chefs of the future.

Tennis
Focusing on improving technique through better stance, building greater power into strokes and improving shot selection, alongside improving consistency.

Football


Enabling students to practise and perfect their football skills including drills, tactics and match play as well as other elements including sport science, nutrition, physical conditioning and building confidence.

Different Pro Options are available at different locations and for different courses.

Sample 1.5 hour session: Football

Performance testing:
Strength, reflexes, speed, agility and stamina (30 mins).

Technical training:
Attacking - building confidence in the final third to beat a defender in 1v1 scenario, creating overloads and finishing (50 mins).

Injury Prevention Workshop:
Useful tips on how to prevent common football injuries through stretching, rolling and selecting the correct footwear (10 mins).
