Weekend Assistant
Accountabilities
Weekend Centre Operations: Provide flexible operational support across the centre throughout the weekend, assisting the Centre Manager and wider team wherever required. This may include site support, accommodation assistance, preparing areas for arrivals and departures, supporting communal areas and responding to general operational needs.
Student Transfers: Undertake student transfers to and from airports and train stations safely, courteously and efficiently, following all BSS procedures, timings and safeguarding requirements. Where required, support Unaccompanied Minors (UMs) by receiving them from airline staff on arrival, completing the necessary documentation, supporting departure registration and ensuring they remain appropriately supervised until they are formally handed over to the correct airline or BSS staff member.
Student Arrivals & Departures: Support the smooth check-in and check-out of students, assisting with luggage, accommodation, departure preparation, and transport movements. Ensure students receive a professional, organised and welcoming experience and that any discrepancies, delays or concerns are reported promptly.
Weekend Excursions & Student Supervision: Accompany and supervise students on weekend excursions and other off-site activities, following the agreed itinerary, relevant procedures and Risk Assessments. Complete accurate registers and headcounts, support positive behaviour and help ensure all students remain safe and accounted for throughout.
Student Welfare, Safeguarding & Health and Safety: Remain consistently aware of students’ behaviour, welfare and general well-being throughout all duties. Maintain appropriate professional boundaries, follow all relevant safeguarding and Health & Safety procedures, and report any welfare concerns, hazards, incidents or near misses without delay.
Communication & Problem Solving: Maintain clear and regular communication with the Centre Manager, Transfer & Logistics team, Head Office and other relevant colleagues. Respond calmly and professionally to delays, changes or unexpected operational issues, always prioritising student safety, welfare and the smooth running of the centre.

JOB ROLE:
Weekend Assistant
KEY PURPOSE OF JOB:
To provide flexible operational support to the Centre Management Team throughout the weekend, helping to ensure student arrivals, departures, transfers, excursions and day-to-day centre operations run safely, smoothly and efficiently.
REPORTING TO:
Centre Manager
HOURS: Variable shifts across Saturdays and Sundays, including mornings, afternoons and evenings.
Example shift could be 08:00 - 19:00
The role is from 27th of June until 14th of August (Inclusive of Optional Dates)
SALARY:
£151.69 per day + 12.07% Holiday Pay Total daily pay £170 including holiday pay
